What Do You See?
What I see as I look in a mirror
is the surface of a person.
The skin, the hair, the face, the stature...
These things are not the person.
The person cannot be seen by the
reflection of light in a mirror.
The real person, the one within, flawed
yet loved and accepted - unconditionally -
by the Almighty Creator, the Almighty re-Creator.
The reflection I see changes daily, aging,
decaying, but...
What I don't see in the mirror also changes
daily, more and more being changed
into the image of Christ, more and more
experiencing the joy of fellowship and
intimacy with the Father-God.
What I see is not nearly as important as
what I don't see when I look in a mirror.
